Cosmetic Camouflage.
A number of over the counter products are now available that can make the hair look thicker. They come primarily in powders, sprays and creams such as Toppik and Dermatch.
Wigs, hats and caps can all be used to mask hair loss. Elaborate hair systems, attached by glue or sewn to the patient’s existing hair, have become more common in recent years. Because systems must regularly be adjusted, repeated visits to the salon become expensive. As these pieces can’t be removed at night, they cause traction hair loss – accelerating the problem the user is trying to camouflage in the first place and making the person even more dependent on the hairpiece.
